Summary: To lead the CVC Young Adult Ministry to passionately pursue new
life in Christ together.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate for CVC Young Adults director is humble, convinced of
the power of God’s Word, dedicated to prayer, committed to life-on-life
discipleship, able to teach, competent to counsel, clear in their
communication, and dedicated to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a born-again, baptized believer.
• Must affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
• Must be at least 30 years old.
• Prefer 5+ years of church leadership experience
• Prefer Bible college or seminary degree.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy:
a. Equip: Work with the other members of the Equip Team to
develop and deploy effective discipleship strategies across all age
groups.
b. Goals: Develop and implement yearly goals for the young adult
ministry that help CVC accomplish long-term goals in areas of
evangelism, discipleship, intergenerational ministry, and sending
culture.
c. LifeGroup Leaders: Develop, onboard, train, and equip young
adult LifeGroup leaders to facilitate and disciple CVC young
adults.
d. Core Team – Recruit, onboard, and train a diverse team of
volunteer young adults who will lead various areas of the young
adult ministry.
e. Young Adult Teams: Develop and deploy volunteers, other than
LifeGroup leaders, to assist in the areas of events, worship,
hospitality, social media, serve, and connect.
f. Plan and steward a yearly ministry budget that reflects the goals
and objectives of CVC Young Adult Ministry.

Discipleship:
a. Embrace and deploy the strategies of the Equip Team within the
young adult context.
b. LG Leaders: Working alongside the Equip pastor to provide care
and training for LifeGroup leaders, facilitate quarterly leader
meetings, and plan one leader retreat per year.
c. Core Team – Facilitate monthly core team discipleship meetings
to equip and empower the core team to lead bi-weekly huddles
and effectively engage the young adult community.
d. Young Adults – Weekly leadership of one of the CVC Young Adult
LifeGroups. The expectation is that the director would be
responsible for hosting a young adult group in their home or
another offsite location. Engage consistently with the young adult
community to build intentional relationships in which discipleship
can occur.
e. College Students: Develop care and communication strategies to
love CVC students who are away at college.

Communication:
a. Direct oversight of communication in CVC Young Adults in the
following areas
• Regular email correspondence to leaders and young adults
• Social Media: Oversee weekly communication and posting
on CVC Young Adult social platforms including Instagram
and Group Me.
b. Working with the Invite department and Equip Pastor to oversee
and implement large-scale communication strategies for all CVC
Young Adults events.

Events:
a. Lead the planning, organization and execution of all events,
including outreach events, Lifegroup leader retreat, Core Team
gatherings, Meet ups, Nights of Worship, and young adult
retreats.

Fulfill other responsibilities including:
a. Plan and facilitate outside teaching opportunities in partnership
with CVCKids, CVCYouth, Men and Women’s ministry, Sunday
Sessions, etc.
b. Work in conjunction with Equip Pastor to audit and implement
up-to-date safety policies and procedures.
c. Establish strategic yearly quarterly, bi-monthly goals strategic
and regularly update in Teamflect
d. In partnership with CVCYouth, help onboard and transition
upcoming high school seniors into young adult ministry
e. Selflessly serve the greater vision of CVC as opportunities arise
outside of the young adult department.

Expectations:
• Mobilize young adults to serve in other ministries at CVC
• Bi-weekly 1:1 check-in meeting with Equip pastor
• Bi-weekly Equip Team meetings
• Attend CVC staff meetings, as required.
• Attend all ministry advisory team meetings
• 40 hour workweek; Sunday-Thursday (Friday/Saturday off)
