Job Description

The Accountant analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. Ensures that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Helps train and develop accounting clerks. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting theory and a degree. Requirements:

  • Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records,   financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy,   completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
  • Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations, and enhancements to online services.
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues,   financial commitments, and obligations, project future revenues and expenses or provide advice.
  • Assist   Controller with payroll system and payroll related items.
  • Manage petty cash account.
  • Complete monthly close procedures and backup Controller with other month-end duties.
  • Assist with financial and tax audits.
  • Prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies &   procedures.
  • Assist   Controller with external audit and preparation of assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.
  • Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
