We value: Connection over production (John 15:5) Risk & adventure over comfort (John 3:8) Innovation over tradition (Luke 5:19) Personal engagement over attendance (Luke 9:62) Expressive worship over religious rituals (Luke 7:38)   What You’ll Actually Be Doing: Managing the accounts payable process and periodic check runs Ensuring all invoices have proper documentation, approval, and eligibility prior to posting Ensuring supporting documentation is available to the authorized check signors at the time of signature Managing the accounts payable ledger to ensure payments are made within the proper terms Assisting with the monthly closing process and communication with the accounting department Evaluating and implementing alternative methods of payment processing, such as ACH and credit card processing Assisting and training church staff on handling and coding invoices Reconciling the accounts payable total and general ledger on a consistent basis Ensuring employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected for all vendors required to prepare and submit 1099s. Assisting with the annual 1099 / 1096 reporting requirements Ensuring the proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in accordance with the church’s record retention policy   Our Must-Haves: Bachelor’s or Associates degree in accounting, and/or equivalent work experience in finance or accounting roles Proficient in accounting software (Sage Intacct is a plus) and the Microsoft Office suite of products and software Thorough understanding of the accounts payable functions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to effectively prioritize and schedule tasks Ability to look for innovative solutions that promote efficiency for both time and cost Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with due care Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church (or willing to become one) who supports our Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church Mantra in tangible ways.   If this sounds like you, apply today!
