Position Description:

Admin: Provide administrative support to the Lead Pastor and Campus Director.  Hours are flexible but must be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Campus Events Coordinator – Plan and execute Campus events/special events. Hours are flexible but must be available on some Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Coffee Team Coordinator– Recruit, encourage, lead, and schedule coffee team members. Make sure that all food and supplies are provided.

Lobby Set Up/ Tear Down Coordinator- Recruit, lead and carry out set up and tear down for the lobby. Coordinate and collaborate with the Guest Services Coordinator to recruit and schedule volunteers to ensure that all set up and tear-down tasks are completed.

  • Education: High School diploma required; College degree desired.
  • Experience: Administration experience, working knowledge of various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, database programs.  Ability to learn new technology quickly a must.   Demonstrated ability to build volunteer teams.  Project Management experience helpful.
  • Requirements:  Affirmation of the mission, values, and beliefs of Kensington and Kensington Kids. Membership at Kensington Community Church or in process.


Events Planning:
Work with the Campus team to identify and develop a master schedule for all Birmingham events. Build volunteer teams to help plan and execute Birmingham Campus events.  Responsibilities include identifying communication strategies for each event and coordination efforts with Kensington decentralized ministries i.e. interface with Local Outreach Team for Thanksgiving Baskets. Keep this up-to-date online as necessary.

Sunday morning events include but are not limited to: Super Bowl Party, Easter, Mother’s Day, Volunteer Celebration, Father’s Day, Fall Fest, Christmas, etc.

Events include off-service time events like: Spring Serve, Easter Egg Hunt, Warming Center, Thanksgiving Baskets, Summer Service, etc.

Community-building Coordinator: Identify and recruit teams to execute Campus community-building activities and events. Examples of Sunday events that you will support may include Superbowl Sunday, Volunteer Recruitment weekends, Men’s Breakfasts, Family Contests, Outreach Collections (i.e., baptism celebrations, backpacks, winter coats).  Examples of non-Sunday events may include Campus Picnic, Leader Celebration, Thanksgiving Eve, etc.  Implement communication plans and coordination efforts with centralized KC ministries i.e., Global, Communications, Arts.

Self-Starter: Ability to work well independently completing projects with excellence.

School Liaison: Communicate with the school about reservations, process payments, and be the main contact with BPS for standard issues. Extensive issues should be directed to the Campus Director.

Team Admin
: Provide support for meetings and events via Hospitality, Setup/Tear-down, Supplies, Handouts, etc., and manage short-term projects that support the campus ministry.

Answer all calls from the general public for the Birmingham campus. Handle all email correspondence for the campus. Do email updates for the Birmingham campus. Manage and maintain Birmingham Campus database, analyze data and generate reports as needed.  Update webpage regularly and respond timely to email requests for information.

Organizational Tasks:
Process all monies related to ministry and maintain budget records. Handle all incoming bills and Intacct work.

Campus Newsletter:
Create and collect content for campus newsletter, assemble and send.

Coffee Team:
Recruit, equip, care for, lead, and support the coffee team. Ensure the team has all of the supplies that they need for Sunday morning service times. Coordinate and collaborate with the Guest Services Coordinator as needed.
