Job Summary

The Digital Marketing Coordinator extends the reach of James River Church through the execution of digital marketing projects and initiatives. Under the leadership of the Digital Marketing Manager and the Communications Director, this role assists in building the church through the coordination of the Online Campus streaming platforms, the James River Church podcast, the John Lindell Podcast, the James River Church blog, web pages, search engine optimization, research, and reports. Additionally, this role provides administrative support to the Digital Marketing Department.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

 
James River Church Website:

  1. Coordinate the innovation and development of the jamesriver.church website
  2. Coordinate the creation of event pages for upcoming events
  3. Ensure website is optimized for page load speed, trends in content consumption, SEO, etc.
  4. Performs keyword research for new content and website optimization
  5. Executes ongoing SEO efforts for local and global search engine rankings
  6. Report helpful data that allows us to make data-driven decisions to implement change
  7. Ensure the website is up to date and optimized
  8. Ensure all systems, buttons, and forms are easy to use and function well
  9. Research new platforms and web strategies that could benefit the church through ease of use and increased traffic
  10. Work with accounting to ensure giving tools/platforms are quality and competent
  11. Ensure the website complies with James River Church brand guidelines

 

Online Streaming Platforms:

  1. Innovate and raise the level of quality across each of the Online Campus streaming platforms
  2. Ensure systems are created and executed for the streams to run smoothly
  3. Report helpful data that allows us to make data-driven decisions to implement change

 

James River Church App:

  1. Ensure the app is up to date.
  2. Ensure the app platform used by JRC is consistent in quality with leading churches around the world.
  3. Ensure app is in compliance with James River Church’s brand guidelines

 

James River Church Email Campaigns:

  1. Assist with the building and sending of email campaigns for the lead pastor and all church correspondence.
  2. Research new and existing platforms and email campaign strategies that could benefit the communication of church events, sermons, and announcements.
  3. Work with the Creative Department to include graphics and pictures that comply with the dimensions needed for the email campaign for email load speed.

 

James River Church & John Lindell Podcasts:

  1. Innovate and raise the level quality of the podcast platforms
  2. Ensure content is posted consistently on a release schedule
  3. Report helpful data that allows us to make data-driven decisions to implement change

 

James River Church Blog:

  1. Create and oversee a quality blog platform
  2. Ensure content is posted consistently on a release schedule
  3. Report helpful data that allows us to make data-driven decisions to implement change

 

Research & Reports:

  1. Discovery of new marketing outlets and advertising opportunities
  2. Optimizes campaigns and content through A/B testing
  3. Analyzes campaign results and trends to generate reports of marketing efforts

 

Administrative Functions:

  1. Handle invoices and expense reporting duties
  2. Assist in project/task management of digital marketing team
  3. Manage departmental scheduling and requests
  4. Supports department where needed

Job Requirements

 
  1. Minimum one (1) year experience working in a professional, fast-paced, business, or church office environment, preferably with an emphasis on communications and marketing responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 
  1. Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, filing, telephone techniques, and office equipment; as well as English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  2. Experience with MS Office, MS Excel
  3. Demonstrates excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities without immediate and constant supervision.
  4. Detailed working knowledge of marketing, social media, and advertising.
  5. Exhibit good judgment, honesty, integrity, responsibility, and punctuality through the utilization of professional work standards.
  6. Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times with regards to phone, email, and other forms of communication
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, civic organizations, business professionals, and the general public.
  8. Exceptional marketing and communication ability
  9. Detail-oriented individual, able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  10. Able to collaborate on projects and campaigns within and outside of the church
  11. High aptitude in strategic planning, technology, and communication
  12. Able to work under tight deadlines and pressure, maintaining a professional demeanor
  13. Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization preferred
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned and required.

James River Church is Pastor-led and staff driven with board oversight. JRC staff are considered leaders and ministers of the gospel and therefore agree to the following:

  4. Attend all regularly scheduled services in the church. Special services and functions will be required as deemed necessary by the Lead Pastor.
  5. Maintain a high level of personal integrity, honesty and confidentiality in dealing both with the staff and congregation.
  6. Maintain a Christian outlook and attitude at all times.
  7. Maintain loyalty to the staff and church, actively promoting unity within the church.
