Are you a student pastor with a passion for reaching, leading and discipling the next generation of Christ followers?  Do you have experience recruiting and shepherding volunteers?  The River Valley Student Ministry Leader will develop and implement weekly student programming and disciple volunteers, parents and students with the goal of awakening students to the glory of God.  Come join a campus team that is engaging in on-going outreach to the community while maintaining the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church. Essential Functions: Develop and implement weekly student programming for High School and Middle School, in both large group and small group settings. Shepherd, lead, disciple, train and empower a base of volunteers to disciple students . Come alongside parents and equip them to disciple their children on a daily basis. Attend and participate in all appropriate staff and team meetings. Participate with the campus staff in on-going outreach to the community. Participate in weekend services with baptisms, communion meditations and announcements when needed. Develop and maintain annual budget for student ministry. Oversee/plan volunteer worship (music) team for services. Collaborate and communicate with SECC student ministries at other campuses. Pastor High School and Middle School students as evidenced by visiting schools and personal visitations as needed during crisis situations. Develop, oversee and lead local outreach opportunities for students, as well as, domestic and (possibly) international mission trips. Essential Competencies: Able to communicate in a large group setting that is relevant to the age demographic in attendance for the purpose of growing fully devoted disciples of Jesus. Willingness to be mentored and coached to improve as a pastor, preacher/teacher and leader. Knowledgeable of social media currently used by High School and Middle School students. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and shepherding skills. Previous youth ministry and volunteer recruitment experiences in a growing church. Thorough understanding of and passion for Biblical discipleship. Highly relational and strong people skills. Experienced in leading and developing a team. Strong work ethic and team player. Ability to generate leadership respect and focus a room of Middle School and High School students. Required Education, Experience, and Membership: Bachelor's Degree in Ministry preferred. Must be ordained or willing to seek ordination. 3-5 years of experience in Student Ministry or related field preferred. Engaged member, or willing to become a member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church mantra in tangible ways.
