Description This year-round position is defined as salary, full time or 40 working hours per week. Expectation of attendance is for Sunday services (prayer meeting, Sunday School, morning worship services, evening worship services), rehearsals with the choir and band, Wednesday night class, and other special services. Expectation of scheduled office hours, including study time for youth as well as time to work in building the youth community. The work is done cooperatively with the Lead Pastor and Great Commission Pastor (pastoral staff).

Requirements

Agreement and observance of the Baptist Faith and Message
Born again Christian, servant hearted, with a genuine passion for worship, music, youth-aged young adults, and Christian unity
Pursuing or holding a degree pertaining to Biblical studies or emphasis in music/music theory (preferred)
Ability to sing, read, and teach music
Ability to play and perform using a musical instrument (preferred)
Excellent communication skills
Superb problem-solving skills
Basic understanding (or willingness to learn) church presentation software – presently, ProPresenter, Light Key, and Behringer X32 sound board
Undergo a background check

Youth Ministerial Responsibilities:

Prepare and teach gospel-centered lessons for youth Sunday school and Wednesday night classes
Instill a passion for Christ within the youth and a willingness to serve in the church
Coordinate planning to ensure Christian youth experience authentic worship personally, with the youth group, and with the full church body.
Provide counseling to youth and families as needed
Attend extracurricular activities of youth
As allowed by law, minister on school campuses

Music Ministerial Responsibilities:

Work weekly with the pastoral staff to plan, prepare, and provide direction for a blended worship service on both Sunday mornings and nights
Oversee both a Worship Choir and Worship Band through recruitment, rehearsals, and musical training and include both as a regular part of worship
Lead and direct worship at weekly-scheduled and special services, including Vacation Bible School and special programs
Enlist and use the talents within the church congregation
Oversee and provide direction to vocalists, music ministry team, and technicians responsible for audio, visuals, lighting, and other worship-related technical equipment
Implement logistical details and provide support and expertise for concerts, musicals and special evangelistic efforts that involve music and other technical areas of the church

Office Responsibilities:

Maintain a constant program of self-improvement by keeping informed of current music methods, youth and worship materials, youth promotional ideas, and administrative techniques
Attend all Church Staff meetings
Maintain copyright records and adhere to lawful guidelines applicable to the use of copyrighted material
Provide support to pastoral staff in the daily workings of the church
