Animas Valley Church is located just north of Durango Colorado in La Plata County. The church started out as a resort ministry and grew into being a church approximately 15 years ago.

AVC meets at the event center of the River Bend Ranch facility. Because AVC meets at the River Bend Ranch, extra mid-week or specific gatherings must be scheduled around River Bend Ranch’s event calendar, at the local grange hall, or in the homes of members. Those who attend are primarily retired and a few young families. The attendance averages around 50 each Sunday. AVC is financially stable and debt free. Worship is relaxed and traditional in music style. The church emphasizes and supports an extensive mission effort locally and abroad. AVC is a contributing member to the Colorado Baptist General Convention, SBC and the local Mesa Verde Association.
