POSITION: Church Administrative Manager

PURPOSE: To provide general administrative support to church members, staff, and committees, provide financial reporting assistance, and support facility and grounds matters as necessary

DUTIES:
The Administrative Manager actively supports and lives the vision, mission, and core values of Berea Baptist Church. Specifically, the administrative manager handles the day-to-day operations of the church, including financial support and church office management. This includes internal and external communications and administrative assistance for staff, members, and committees. The Church Administrative Manager is a point of contact for church members and committees, providing resources and addressing various issues throughout the week. They are a liaison for church leaders, staff, members, committees, and the senior pastor. The Administrative Manager represents the church and is expected to support the goals of the church and demonstrate the church’s teachings in their life and work.

ADMINISTRATIVE:
·       Supports the needs of the Senior Pastor
·       Provides leadership and guidance to the Administrative Assistant in alignment with the Senior Pastor and the mission of Berea Baptist Church
·       Supports the Personnel Committee with HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, employee and volunteer handbooks, volunteer work, and employee vacation schedules
·       Supports all church committees as needed
·       Maintains confidential church and personnel records
·       Oversees the master church calendar and ensures there are no conflicts
·       Manages the church schedule for use of the Family Life Center for weddings and gatherings, as well as the use of classrooms for Bible studies, committee meetings, and other events
·       Answers questions and provides resources for general administrative processes and procedures
·       Performs background checks as needed

BUILDING/PROPERTY SERVICES:
·       Supports the Building and Property Committee as needed to resolve issues, assist with service contracts (grounds, cleaning, office equipment, utilities, etc.), and helps with the day-to-day maintenance of activities for buildings and equipment
·       Serves as the contact for church maintenance calls and processing of associated invoices and payments
·       Maintains all insurance policies associated with the church and keeps an inventory of all Church property including vehicles and equipment
FINANCE/REPORTING:
·       Oversees payroll and keeps records of employee benefits, insurance, and vacation time
·       Works with the Treasurer and the Stewardship Committee to track and record church income from donations, deposits funds into church accounts, and pays bills
·       Maintains financial records in ADP and Realm
·       Maintains financial reports and balance sheets
·       Prepares and distributes income and spending reports for committees and staff
·       Supports committees and staff in preparing reports as necessary

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
·       Is knowledgeable and supports the Berea’s vision, mission, and values; shows alignment and commitment to the church’s goals
·       Is trustworthy, demonstrates integrity, and maintains confidentiality in all situations
·       Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills
·       Displays strong verbal and written communication skills
·       Demonstrates knowledge and application of standard bookkeeping skills and accepted accounting practices
·       Is detailed oriented, organized, and possesses strong technical abilities (including knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ADP, and Realm)
·       Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·       Degree in business, accounting, or related field
·       Knowledge of church administration and operations
·       5+ years’ experience: focusing on business administration, facilities management, and human resources

REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor
POSITION STATUS: Full-time; office hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm
Salary: $55-$60,000
Benefits: Available upon successful completion of 6-month probationary period include paid vacation and health insurance
