Principle Function: The Student Pastor/Worship Leader’s principal function is to implement and carry out a vision to lead worship and lead middle and high school students in a program of evangelism, discipleship and ministry.

Hours: This is a full-time position. The student pastor is available and on call 24 hours a day. The weekly office hours include 8am-4pm Monday – Thursday. Sunday morning/evening and Wednesday evening service attendance required

Responsibilities: The Student Pastor/Worship Leader reports directly to the pastor and will assist him in any pastoral functions as the pastor deems necessary.

Primary responsibilities include:

Support the vision of both the Sr Pastor and the mission of BBC

· Enlist and train adult and student volunteers

· Carry out a Youth and Music Ministry strategy that is evangelistic in nature

· Work with the Sr Pastor on training and growth opportunities

· Supply the pulpit in the absence of Sr Pastor when needed

· Work with Pastor and Finance Committee on annual budget. Responsible for financial stewardship of appropriate budget line items relating to role

· Ensure proper care and maintenance of all church music and student ministry assets including sound equipment, musical instruments, student equipment, supplies, etc.

· Carry out a clear growth strategy for reaching students, discipling, involving students in ministry and plan special events that support this strategy

· Establish trusting relationships with middle/high school campuses

· Plan and organize summer camp and outreach events

· Implement an Acts 1:8 mission strategy for middle/high school students

· Provide overall leadership to student mission trips

· Responsible for congregational singing, special music, music groups, and utilizing spirit led volunteers when needed

· Coordinate church music with a blend of hymns/contemporary worship music to fit church culture

· Direct church choirs for worship services and special functions

· Assist pastor in planning congregation services of the church and be present and responsible for the selection of music in the Sunday and Wednesday worship services, revivals and other worship services. Work with Pastor to secure guest music director to fill in when absent

· Responsible for music at funerals and weddings upon request
