Young Adult Ministry Assistant

This ministry Assistant is responsible for assisting and supporting the Young Adult Ministry and Student Ministry. This position is the ministry assistant for the Young Adult Pastor, who is also the Middle School Pastor. Therefore, your role will span both ministries as well.

Essential Job Functions: Young Adults (“The House Ministry”)

(20hrs/week)

● Report to the Young Adult Pastor for direction and guidance, supporting the church’s vision.
● Provide spiritual leadership and encouragement to those within The House ministry.
● Coordinate and execute The House weekly meals for Thursday nights, establishing a team of volunteers to help serve (catered).
● Responsible for the setup and shut down of The House on Thursday nights.
● Oversee campus outreach at ASU and Albany Tech and build a team to assist

you; plan creative outreach events and ideas for when on campus. This would be

once every other month.
● Help the Young Adult Pastor plan and execute a monthly community event for

The House.
● Create social media posts/stories and maintain social media platforms with the

latest news and updates concerning The House.
● Engage and follow up with First Time Guests.
● Basic graphic design and website design skills (canva), an understanding of

Google Docs and Microsoft Word/Excel.
● Assist the Young Adult Pastor in drafting a weekly email/blog for a Young Adult

distribution list.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Young Adult Pastor.

Essential Job Functions: Student Ministry (“Elevate Students”)

(10hrs/week)

● Report to the student ministry pastors (HS and MS) for direction and guidance, supporting the church’s vision.
● Provide spiritual leadership and encouragement to those within Elevate Student Ministry.
● Handle all outbound communications (mailers, MailChimp, First Time Guests, announcements, random letters, etc.)
● Create social media posts/stories and maintain social media platforms with the latest news and updates concerning Elevate Student Ministry.
● Meet with the Student Ministry team weekly for brainstorming, planning, and accountability.
● Basic graphic design and website design skills, an understanding of Google Docs and Microsoft Word/Excel.
● Help the HS/MS pastor plan and execute events for Elevate Student ministry. This could include logistics, communication, volunteers, set up, tear down, etc.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the HS and MS pastors.

Attendance Expectations
● Attend weekly gatherings for Students and Young Adults (Wednesday and Thursday nights)
● Attend Sunday service and Connect Group (with the Student Ministry)
● Attend monthly community events with Young Adults
● Attend events as scheduled by the Student Ministry
● Essentially, if the Young Adult Pastor is there, you will need to be there.

Compensation Breakdown Monthly Salary: $1,000

Church-Paid Benefits
Housing in a free two-bedroom house: $1,200 (estimate of rent benefit for the house in current condition)

Total Package: $2,200/month
