Student Pastor, Celebration Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Florida

Summary

Celebration is a growing evangelical congregation in Tallahassee, Florida. We are searching for a student pastor with a passion for engaging the students of our congregation in community and discipleship while mobilizing them into service. The right candidate will possess a passion for the lost, a desire to see students and their families develop in their pursuit of Christ and the requisite leaderships skills to lead complex ministries.

Responsibilities

· Develop a relationship with the students of the Celebration family.

· Oversee a comprehensive student ministry supporting students ranging from 6th to 12th grades.

· Lead the student ministry in becoming a true partner in the evangelistic efforts of the broader congregation by seeking to reach un-churched students and their families with the Gospel.

· Supervise, develop and maintain a cohesive, multi-staff environment focused on ministry, spiritual development and preparation for future leadership at Celebration and beyond.

· Engage students in a discipleship path that reflects and embraces the broader discipleship efforts for families at Celebration.

· Foster an environment that encourages students to consider God’s calling in their lives to long term ministry and missions.

· Work with the leadership of our Families with Teens Community to encourage a spirit of interdependence and affection for one another among families related to student ministry.

· Encourage and strengthen student ministries from smaller churches in the area that lack the resources to engage students effectively.

· Provide opportunities for students to build life long memories through meaningful events throughout the year.

· Prepare students to live Biblically sound, Christ centered lives as they move into adulthood.

· Serve students and their families with pastoral care in times of hardship.

· Depending on the preaching gift and the status of development of that gift, the student pastor will occasionally preach to the entire congregation during the Sunday morning worship experience.

Qualifications

· A love for the local church and an appreciation for a long-term investment in it.

· A love for the un-churched and a desire to see them accept Christ.

· A love for students and their families.

· Ability to work as a team with other church pastors and leaders.

· A desire to work with students from different ethnic backgrounds.

· Strong interpersonal skills, loves people, able to motivate others to action.

· Bachelor’s Degree in student ministry or relevant field, Master’s degree preferred.

· Vocational experience in student ministry of 4 years minimum.

· Fluency in Spanish highly desired.
