Our church was started in 2004 in the living room of a church deacon. It has since grown to be a pillar of our community and by far the most community engaged and active church in the town. Prior to COVID our church regularly averaged 60-70 attendees and currently has 46 active church members. We are a very family oriented and friendly church, evident from giant hugs you get from Mike McCurdy upon arrival every Sunday or from the hip hello from “Mr. Cool” Paul Mack. The spread of Mrs. Dianna Lopez coffee and snacks always bring warmth and conversation at ourself-proclaimed “Longest Meet & Greet in Calaveras County” in which our leaders regularly must herd people back to their seats after our Sunday Service intermission[N1] . Our church youth programs are staples of the community that attract not only youth from our church but, from the other churches and our entire community. Our Sunday schools routinely bustle with children and our Copper Kids Club program held on site at the local elementary school would regularly attract 50-80 of the elementary schools’ 200 students for our faith based kids ministry program. Our church and its members have a huge heart for volunteering and are routinely seen both up front and behind the scenes driving community events like the food pantry, clothes closet, Vacation Bible School and many, many more. Our church currently meets in a local historical building called The Armory and for years met in the local elementary school prior to COVID. But without a permanent building our “church in a box” attitude has us ready and willing to go where we are needed in the community. However, we are also excited that in the past 12 months we recently purchased 7 acres of land in town and are in the planning stages of a new church building and supporting facilities that will be the permanent home for our services and programs.

As a church we place a high value on both our biological and church family units. We are servants of God and believe mightily in the power of prayer and its impact. We believe that the bible is the one true version of the truth and fundamentally believe in the gospel and want to live it out and proclaim its word. As a church we consider our style to be unsophisticated, welcoming, loving and we do it with an informative but open and inclusive approach. Together this persona helps us to drive towards our church vision of “Being the church that fulfills the great commission within our community” (as referenced in Matthew 28:16-20). As a church we strive to provide an environment to encourage daily growth and education in Christ for our congregation and our community.

Our church is located in the small town of Copperopolis, California nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. It is uniquely positioned along the northern side of Yosemite National Park and is a gateway to the Sierra Foothill Wine and Motherlode Gold country.

We are looking for a full or part-time (30 hours a week) senior pastor with duties including but not limited to:

a) Sunday worship services

b) Oversight and/or direct leadership of church programs
