Associate Pastor

$35,000-$40,000

(+ A small stipend to assist with health insurance, mileage, and expenses)

The primary role of the full time Associate Pastor is to design, implement and manage a family outreach ministry in consort with the Senior Pastor and church leaders. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a vision of how the modern church can reach out to and attract Millennials and Generation Z families so prevalent in the Tri-State Area.

The right person will have demonstrable organizational skills, the ability to foster positive relationships with others; be able to organize projects, coordinate volunteers, and develop and maintain ministry teams. A knowledge of how to maintain and enhance an online church outreach should be part of the vision for this ministry. The Associate Pastor will also be called on to assist the Senior Pastor with preaching and teaching.

Applicants must be able to detail their calling to the ministry and desire to serve. Personal character and financial standing must be above reproach both inside and outside the church and preference will be given to those who possess a Bachelors/Master of Divinity degree from an accredited college or theological seminary. A minimum of 3 years of pastoral or significant related ministry experience is desired. Experience that includes working closely with families, children and teens will be a welcome consideration.

Bullhead City is in the Tri-State Region of Northwest Arizona on the Colorado River, across the river from Laughlin, Nevada. Estimated population of the area is 55,000. The church is located on the north end of Bullhead City next to both a charter and public elementary schools. It is part of the River Valley Mission Network.

The church is debt free and just purchased a 13-acre property on the south end of the city anticipating raising the capital to build a new facility in the coming year. Our prayers are this multi-use campus will be attractive to the Millennial and Generation Z population we vision including in our family.

Desert Shores is mostly a senior church looking to expand with a new young family-oriented ministry. Presently the two weekly services average 150 worshippers even during the current pandemic. Additionally, Bible study attendance averages 60 people weekly and a Tuesday-Thursday afterschool ministry attracts 15-20 children daily.

In building our new online ministry, the Saturday night (6 p.m.) and Sunday morning (10 a.m.) services as well as special events are broadcast live on the Desert Shores Community Baptist Church Facebook page. Business meetings are also available for members to participate in via a “Zoom” broadcast.
