The Student Ministries Pastor seeks to provide a well–balanced program for youth that will seek to win the lost to Christ and to help those who are Christians to mature in Christ and discover the personal gifts and abilities with which God has blessed them. The one word that describes and entails the concept of student ministry is the word “discipleship”.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Ministry to Students:

1. Develop, promote and coordinate a balanced program of activities and discipleship ministry to youth.

2. Train and involve youth and youth leaders in an outreach program to reach unsaved youth.

3. Plan yearly youth emphasis (i.e. Youth Week, Youth Revivals) to involve youth in areas of church leadership.

4. Involve youth in ministry, mission projects, camps and events.

5. Be available for counseling.

6. Support youth in their school setting.

7. Lead weekly youth meetings for grades 6-12 ( Sunday Morning/ Wednesday Nights).

8. Organize and run any youth fundraisers for camps, missions, etc.

9. Delegate set up, tear down, clean up and lock down after all youth programs and events.

Ministry to Parents:

7. Be available to parents to discuss issues related to their child or youth ministry.

Ministry to Student Leadership:

8. Enlist a balance of men and women youth workers.

9. Lead regular leadership meetings with youth leaders.

10. Provide training opportunities in church and/or at state and national levels.

Other Responsibilities:

11. Is a member of the Ministry Leadership Team.

12. Draw up a yearly budget for the youth ministry and submit it to the Stewardship Team.

13. Will be available to fill the pulpit, conduct funerals, assist deacons in hospital visitations, ect. In the pastor’s absence.

14. Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.

Work Hours:

This position requires flexibility in hours available for work, including evenings and weekends. The position is a part time, salaried position. It is recognized that the schedule may vary at different times of the year with other duties as requested by the Lead Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in ministry with some experience in youth ministry is preferred but not required. Must believe in Baptist doctrine and be willing to preach and teach from the King James Version of the Bible.

2. Demonstrate gifts and calling to youth ministry, love young people, and have a passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level.

3. A self-motivated leader, capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry, possessing relational skills with youth, parents, and staff.

4. Must possess strong communication skills and a desire to be active in community outreach. This position requires excellent leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.

5. Must have the ability to research the community, utilizing demographics, technology and social media to reach the unchurched youth of our community.

6. Able to work as a team player, cooperating with the staff and members of Faith Baptist Church.

7. Should be able to act with minimal supervision and provide guidance to church leadership in all areas concerning youth ministry.

8. Exhibit proven ability to teach and train youth into a deeply enriching faith experience.

9. Exemplify obedience to the Word of God and devotion to a deep-rooted prayer life.

10. Must have a clear testimony to a saving, sanctifying and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

11. Model a Christ-like lifestyle and a passion to reach the lost for Jesus Christ

12. Be willing to preach and teach from the King James Version (KJV).
