Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Women and the Southwestern Women’s Center provides administrative and secretarial support to the Dean of Women and to the Southwestern Women’s Center

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

· Serves as the primary initial contact for anyone contacting the Southwestern Women’s Center, the Dean of Women, and the women’s academic programs teaching faculty

· Provide administrative/secretarial support for the Dean of Women.

· Provide administrative/secretarial support as needed for all teaching faculty under the supervision of the Dean of Women as it relates to their individual classes.

· Process and maintain all records related to teaching faculty.

· As requested, assist with key women’s events such as Women’s Auxiliary, Widows’ Might, SBC Annual meeting, state convention annual meetings, and other women’s conferences.

· Provide administrative/secretarial support for the day-to-day operations of the WC

· Coordinate the calendaring of special events, meetings, courses, overnight guests, and other special uses of the Women’s Center

· Request and track maintenance and repair needs for the Women’s Center

· Request, track, and process any needed supplies for the Women’s Center

· Partner with the Dean of Women to foster mentoring opportunities for Southwestern women.

· Partner with the Dean of Women and the Women’s Center Interns to provide a welcoming environment for Women’s s events and other appropriate campus events as requested with a view of continually modeling a biblical ministry of hospitality

· Perform other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility

Qualifications / Education:

· Must possess a bachelor’s degree.

· Must be available to work some evenings and weekends. Some overnight travel may be involved

· Valid U.S. Driver’s License

· Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.

· This position reports to the Dean of Women

Physical Requirements

· Physically able to sit and stand for long periods of time,

· Able to use computer and move about office to interact with other staff members,

· Able to master key computer programs including Microsoft Office programs and Colleague

· Able to attend meetings on site,

· Able to bend and/or stoop,

· Able to climb and lift up to 10 pounds to perform tasks that may be assigned in the course of operations.

· Must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone.

· Must be able to perform occasional overhead reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, and kneeling.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

· Occasionally required to stand, kneel, crouch, climb and balance, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
