Principal Function: The College Pastor is responsible for seeking and implementing God’s vision for Belle Aire’s college ministry. He plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates a comprehensive discipleship and outreach program for college students and college-aged young adults.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Discipleship
a. Oversee the discipleship programs for the college ministry. Make sure the programs and activities of the college and college-aged young adult ministries glorify God, support the mission of Belle Aire Baptist Church, and effectively develop in the students and college-aged young adults an increasing love for and obedience to God and His Word.
b. Teach college students and college-aged young adults who have decided to follow Christ what it means to be a Christian and how to live the Christian life.
c. In cooperation with the other ministries, connect the college ministry with the body of Christ at Belle Aire Baptist Church.
d. Preach on Sundays, if requested by the Senior Pastor.

2. Outreach
a. Plan, coordinate and conduct outreach events to college students and college-aged young adults in the community.
b. Maintain a good working relationship with the appropriate people at MTSU, abiding by the rules and regulations of MTSU, to maintain the Alpha Omega college ministry as a campus organization.
c. Teach believing students and college-aged young adults how to be effective witnesses for Christ.
d. Personally witness to the lost on a regular basis.

3. Inreach
a. Contact and minister to visiting college students and other college-aged young adults.
b. Be available for marriage and spiritual counseling.
c. Minister to college students and college-aged young adults who are sick, hospitalized, or in crisis. Provide counsel, comfort, and encouragement to students and college-aged young adults who are suffering.
d. Develop appropriate mentoring relationships.
e. Perform weddings and funerals, as needed.

4. Leadership Development
a. Discover, recruit, train, and develop a team of volunteers to serve as teachers, mentors, and chaperones. Screen all potential volunteers.
b. Identify, recruit, train, and encourage college ministry leaders who feel called to future service in college ministry.

5. Administration
a. Develop and manage the college ministry budget.

b. Develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard the college students including environmental safety, department security, selection of workers and leaders, and incident response.

6. Personal Growth
a. Grow in your personal walk with the Lord. Faithfully practice the spiritual disciplines.
b. Pursue opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications:
1. A believer in Jesus Christ.
2. Demonstrates a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
3. Meets the requirements of Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3.
4. Adheres to the Belle Aire Baptist Church Articles of Faith.
5. A minimum of three years of experience directing a college ministry is preferred.
6. College degree required. Seminary degree preferred (M. Div. or M.A.C.E.).
7. Must reside within 10 miles of the University.
