Fredonia Baptist Church is just outside New Albany MS, in North Central Mississippi. We are an hour south of Memphis off Interstate 22. While we are in a rural setting there is a lot of growth in our community with diverse industry — the two largest growth industries are Toyota Manufacturing and Ashley Furniture. Our communities have been blessed with good schools and several churches that are very active in the community and abroad.

We are growing as a church and recognize a need to more formally grow our Children’s Ministry. In recent weeks we have 40 or so on Wednesday nights. We work to encourage our children to be active in church, as well as, service opportunities in the community. We have a very strong VBS each year that is a priority each year, with an emphasis in outreach in our community. We also plan a Children’s Summer Camp each year for over 15 years now, at Shocco Springs Retreat in Alabama. We make an effort to formally engage our community with outreach opportunities once a quarter though Fall Festivals, Back to School Events, etc.

Our Children’s Ministry has terrific support from our church and we know we need help growing this ministry. We have an active PreSchool Committee and Children’s Committee to help support this role as well. We are hoping to find a part-time staff at this time. We feel like this will be an average of 20hours/week, recognizing that some events will demand more time through the year and we will be flexible with the work load. We are certainly willing to work with those who may be in college pursuing a ministry degree, or those interested who may be bi-vocational.
