General Description

The Music Director will be responsible for providing leadership in planning, supervising, and facilitating effective worship through music consistent with the overall mission of the church.

Qualifications

· True disciple of Jesus Christ with a sincere desire to serve.

· Ability to balance priorities between home and ministry.

· Ability to lead, organize, recruit, delegate, encourage, motivate, and work with others.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both interpersonally as well as in public settings.

· Ability to read music.

· Ability to take direction and work as a team member.

· Availability to weekly meet for practice.

Accountability

The Music Director will report directly to the pastoral staff. The Music Director will also work in consultation with all other related committee and/or church leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to those listed below, other duties may be assigned as needed by supervisor, pastoral staff, and/or related committee and/or church leader.

Administration

The Music Director will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and leading, either directly or by delegation, all music related activities. Moreover, the Music Director will work with all other staff as part of a team.

General Duties

· Plan and recommend all materials used in all musical worship.

· Secure, train, coordinate, and oversee volunteers/paid instrumentalist to participate in services.

· Coordinate and oversee Ministry Budget Plan for music related activities.

· Communicates the needs of the music ministry to other staff and church leadership as appropriate.
