Associate Pastor of Families and Music
Qualifications and Job Description

Definition
• This is a full-time position in which the associate pastor will work alongside the pastor in a highly collaborative environment to provide Spirit-led leadership for all generations of Gosnell Baptist Church in our aim to make disciples of all nations for God’s glory. He will have a desire to make disciples, lead teams, and create and implement systems that promote spiritual maturity so that the church would accomplish its mission.
• He will directly oversee and lead Family Ministry and Music Ministry.

Qualifications
•      Meets the Biblical qualifications for pastors as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
•      Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
•      Proficient in leading congregational worship
•      Currently has or is working on a seminary degree (preferred)

Pastoral Responsibilities (assist the pastor in the following):
•      Preaching/teaching on Sunday mornings and/or evenings
•      Visiting prospects, potential church members, and church members
•      Design and implement a process to assimilate new converts, attendees, and members into the life of the church
•      Developing and implementing discipleship structure church-wide
•      Developing and implementing a biblical leadership structure
•      Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor

Family Ministry Responsibilities
•      Oversee the organization and implementation of a family discipleship ministry
•      Coordinate with lead pastor to develop and implement a plan for ongoing parental discipleship and involvement in family ministries.
•      Provide oversight and leadership to youth and children ministries and their volunteer teams
•      Provide leadership, direction, and support to ministries designed to disciple students including but not limited to:
o   Recruiting and training teachers for Children and Youth Sunday school,
o   Overseeing Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities for children’s ministry and youth ministry
o   Leading Wednesday night Bible study for the youth ministry
o   Planning, organizing, and leading mission trips, camps, retreats, etc. for youth and children’s ministry on a consistent basis
o   Serving as staff liaison between the church and local schools and other student organizations geared towards students and their families

Music Ministry Responsibilities
•      Coordinate with lead pastor to design and implement Sunday morning and evening worship gatherings
•      Provide oversight, leadership, and pastoral care to the praise and audio/visual teams
•      Lead music portion of Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship gatherings including rehearsals
•      Lead music portion of special events within the church when possible
