Worship Pastor Job Description

Hampton First Baptist Church is seeking a full time Worship Pastor to lead in planning, conducting, and presenting a comprehensive music program that will edify the body of Christ and draw people to worship God.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· A strong sense of calling and identity in Christ that models 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.

· A willing spirit in the life-long pursuit of sanctification and a heart for the spiritual growth of those in the congregation and the worship ministry.

· Integrity within the family, church and community.

· Humility that allows the Holy Spirit to lead.

· Demonstrated experience as a contemporary worship leader in a multigenerational congregation.

· Well organized and disciplined with a strong vocal and instrumental background.

· Skilled use of current media technology and sound equipment in worship.

DUTIES:

· Create and lead engaging worship services that function together cohesively (including song selection, coordination of rhythm and wind instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs and other participants).

· Collaborate with Senior Pastor, tech team and worship team in the design and implementation of weekly worship services.

· Oversee the worship ministry department and volunteers.

· Plan and direct seasonal and special events as outreach opportunities.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
