The School Principal must be a bible believing Christian, committed to living a biblical lifestyle, and called by God to lead at Harvest School. This position plans, directs and coordinates the academic, administrative, and auxiliary activities for students at the elementary level to help them achieve academic, social, physical, and spiritual wholeness. The School Principal leads with compassion and enthusiasm; must be dependable, organized, friendly, and creative, with the ability to relate well with children, parents, school staff, and volunteers. Requirements:

Demonstrate a Christ-like and positive professional attitude toward faculty, students, volunteers, and others; respect them and remain objective when dealing with student problems.
Evaluate curricula, teaching methods, and programs to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization and to ensure that school activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Establish, coordinate and oversee particular programs across the school, such as programs to evaluate student academic achievement.
Confer with School Director to set educational standards and goals and help establish policies and procedures to carry them out.
Collaborate with teachers to develop and maintain curriculum standards and set performance goals and objectives.
Observe teaching methods and examine learning materials to evaluate and standardize curricula and teaching techniques and determine areas where improvement is needed.
Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities, policies, and student behavioral or learning problems.
Counsel and guidance to teachers regarding students' personal, academic or behavioral issues.
Enforce discipline and attendance rules.
Establish and enforce behavior rules and procedures for maintaining order among the students they are responsible for, always placing students’ health and safety first.
Provide additional time beyond the regular daily schedule for students in need of assistance.
Work additional time beyond the regular daily schedule to complete job duties such as school promotion through tours, involvement in checking after-school sports, and other student activities.
Plan and lead professional development activities for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate primary and supplemental staff.
Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among students, faculty, and parents.
Communicate with parents, volunteers, and other external sources, by communicating in person, in writing, by telephone or e-mail, and represent Harvest in a positive manner.
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff and maintain them over time.
Maintain professional behavior in accordance with the Teacher (HCS Staff) Manual and Harvest Christian Fellowship Employee Manual and a wiliness to follow the school’s policies and procedures.
Remain current in the educational field through coursework, in-service activities, professional literature, conferences, workshops, etc.
Accept change in a positive Christ-like and professional manner, such as implementing new programs and policies, a willingness to accept decisions made by others, etc.
Physical requirements with or without accommodations include repetitive motion and prolonged activity such as reaching, bending, stooping, walking, kneeling, squatting, sitting, and standing.
Create and maintain a strong godly relationship between the principal, the staff, parents, and students.
Spiritual accountability for the staff, parents, and students.
Mentoring/Counseling/Ministering/Discipling for staff, parents, and students/Class visits.
Weekly devotions for the staff and students.
Budget Preparation, implementation, and oversight.
Fundraising implementation and oversight.
Implementation and oversight of School events, activities, parties, and family days.
School promotion, advertising, and giving school tours.
Oversee Admin. Assistant for student registration and school management software.
Oversee Directors: Sports, Hot Lunch, Band, Theater, Recess/Daycare, Yearbook, Photography, Parent Involvement, Tech Specialist, and Librarian.
Evaluate and oversee safety and security, fingerprinting of staff and parents, and First-Aid/CPR training.
Proactively handle concerns from staff, parents, and students.
Establish yearly calendar. Ensure each event and activity is planned and implemented.
