Immanuel Southern Baptist Church was established in 1983.

Our highest sustainable attendance was 150; there is seating in the sanctuary for 200. Currently we are running about 40, so there is unlimited potential for growth.

The main building consists of the sanctuary, church offices, a full basement with a large meeting room, kitchen, bathrooms with a shower, four classrooms, library, and storage areas. In addition, there is a 5,000 square foot multipurpose building with gym, full kitchen, dining room, classrooms, and bathrooms with a shower. The buildings are debt free and sit on ten acres, located at 549 South Main Street in Salem, Arkansas.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate will need to be able to provide spiritual leadership through faithful preaching from Scripture.
The candidate will also perform and/or delegate administrative duties that are necessary in the ongoing life and ministry of the church.
The candidate will also represent the church in community and denominational activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide spiritual leadership through growth in personal spiritual disciplines, faithful preaching from Scripture, personal evangelism, and focus on the Great Commission.
Lead in corporate worship, including the celebration of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Discern, develop consensus, and communicate vision and movement forward to what God would have our church to be and do.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the supervisor of all paid staff.
Model and oversee pastoral care to the sick, bereaved, and those with other needs.
Represent the church in community and denominational activities.
Work with the deacons to provide spiritual leadership and service to the congregation.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

High School Diploma required.
Secondary Education preferable, but not required.

Experience:

At least 3 years of ministry experience is required.

Other:

Preferably 40-50 years of age, with a family, but not required.
Preferably bi-vocational or retired military, but not required.
Must Embrace tenets of BFM, support SBC and ABSC, including Cooperative Program
Must meet qualifications as presented in 1Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
