OVERVIEW

Madera Church (a fast growing church plant with the EFCA) is conducting a search for a full time Associate Pastor. This important role will provide oversight for our Youth Ministry, Worship Ministry, and assist the lead pastor in other pastoral duties, as needed.

As Associate Pastor, you will partner with the volunteers of Madera Church in providing a vibrant and engaging youth and worship ministry that assists in connecting people to God through the truth and hope of Jesus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Evidence of a growing relationship with Jesus, through personal spiritual disciplines, education, accountability and service to others
Three years of related ministry experience required
BA in Bible (or ministry focus) encouraged, MA preferred
Alignment with (and ability to maintain a commitment to) the doctrinal statement, values, and mission of Madera Church
Heart for youth and worship with a commitment to helping others live out the great commission and great commandment
Ability to teach and guide youth, while also providing ways to reach out and draw in youth from our community
Proven ability to provide servant leadership, direction, and vision to others and build and equip ministry teams to carry out the ministry
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; as well as the ability to recruit others to help accomplish the vision
Competent administrative and organizational skills
Strong problem and conflict resolution skills
Possess a growing knowledge of modern worship styles and strategies
Able to provide skilled vocal and instrumental leadership (guitar and/or piano ability preferred), as well as, insights into audio and visual needs
Spiritual gifts that could be helpful would include teaching, evangelism, leadership, shepherding, and/or administration

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

Recruit, train, equip, empower and encourage ministry leaders and volunteers
Oversee Youth and Worship ministry vision, plans and budgets

Youth:

Engage youth to live out our mission to Know, Grow and Go
Plan and oversee regular Youth Ministry opportunities ( e.g.- Youth Group, small groups, serving, outreach events, social outings, youth mission trips, retreats etc.)
Communicate regularly with parents and Youth Leaders, as you partner with them to disciple the youth of Madera Church and our community
Develop student leaders who invest in other students and our community
Provide support and continuity with our kids ministry, working with our Kids Ministry Director
Pray for families of youth

Worship:

Passionately lead others to engage in worship
Plan, coordinate and lead rehearsals
Develop a creative team for song selection and stage design
Utilize Planning Center Online for updating and distributing worship song resources and scheduling volunteer involvement.
Coordinate with projection team for accurate slides
Oversee Worship, Sound, Light, Livestream, and set-up teams

REPORTS

Associate Pastor will partner with and report to the Lead Pastor
Associate Pastor will partner with and supervise the Kids Ministry Director and Worship/Youth Team volunteers
The Associate Pastor will work alongside other church staff and volunteers

TIME REQUITED AND COMPENSATION:

Full-Time Salaried Position
$50k to $60k/year (to be determined based on experience and education)
