Personal Requirements

– A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
– Regular practice of spiritual disciplines
– Strong relationship skills
– A hard-worker who is also able to balance ministry and family in their life
– A person of integrity, with a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church
– In agreement with the beliefs and mission of Cross Pointe Ocala.

Qualifications

– Experience in leading worship, vocalists, and musicians.
– A calling to serve in this kind of ministry role and ability to clearly articulate that calling to others.
– Track record of success as a team builder.
– Proficiency in playing piano and/or guitar, with the ability to lead, while playing best fits our vision for worship leadership.
– Experience as a leader and recruiter of volunteers.
– Experience in leading worship that transcends modern, contemporary and traditional genres.
– Minimum of 2 years of worship leadership experience or qualified worship degree.
Abilities

– Heart for the spiritual formation of those in the congregation and the worship ministry.
– Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading worship.
– Exeperience in the use of technology in worship and in the use of sound, lighting, computers, ProPresenter, and video projection.
– Ability to work with chord charts, sheet music, and guitar tabs, developing arrangements as necessary.
– Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
– Fully support the mission, vision, and worship philosophy of Cross Pointe.
– Must have strong vocal skills.
– Must have a teachable heart.

Responsibilities

– Plan the corporate worship services of Cross Pointe in consultation with the pastoral team.
– Direct leadership and oversight of worship team, tech personnel (sound, lighting, and multimedia), equipment, music, and budgetary resources.
– Set annual goals for the worship ministry that are in line with our vision and evaluate regularly how goals have been attained and modify as needed.
– Lead in some form of spiritual formation at every rehearsal.
– Assist in the planning and implementation of new worship experiences with modern, contemporary and traditional styles of worship music and formats.
– Be open to change and the shifting of responsibilities as growth and ministry increases.
– Direct leadership and oversight of worship team, tech personnel (sound, lighting, and multimedia), equipment, music, and budgetary resources.
– Coordinate music and tech Ministries with all other ministries.
– Identify and train volunteers to serve in the worship and tech ministries.
– Maintain the church web presence, including the church website; social media; and creation, editing, and posting of sermon audio and video.
– Work with the church staff to develop videos, graphics, and other media to be used as sermon illustrations, worship enhancements, and promotional tools.

Accountability

– The Worship Pastor will meet weekly with the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and other ministry staff to provide updates and plan for the future.
– The Worship Pastor will keep good records of attendance of weekly programs and of events.

Salaries and Benefits

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience, including insurance reimbursement.
Hours: This is a full-time position.
Additional: Laptop provided.

About Cross Pointe: Cross Pointe is all about connecting people to God, to each other, and to the world. We average between 300-350 on any given Sunday and currently have two Sunday services. We are growing, so we may be moving to a third service by next spring. Cross Pointe is probably known most in the community for its outreach, from partnering with inner-city apartment complexes and city programs to hold day camps and afterschool programs to helping to plant churches in Atlanta and to the Temascaltepec Nahuatl in Mexico. We are located in north central Florida, about an hour-and-a-half from the beach, Orlando, and Tampa. Ocala is growing by leaps and bounds, and we want to reach the vast numbers of new people who are moving into our city! We hope to find a worship pastor who is excited to join us in this effort!
