Mount Vernon Baptist Church is part of the Southern Baptist Association and adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message. Mount Vernon has about 100+ attending Sunday school, and an average of 160 attending Sunday morning church worship services.

Mount Vernon is approximately 10 miles south of Baxley, GA, in Appling County. Baxley is within 100 miles of the beautiful beaches of St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Tybee Island, as well as historical Savannah, Georgia. Mount Vernon Baptist Church has been at its current location since 1911.

God has blessed and the church has flourished under the leadership of strong pastors, excellent children/youth programs, effective music ministry, mission outreach, and outstanding member volunteer-led programs. The church is seeking a strong Pastor, a vibrant leader, who will work with the deacons, staff, committees, and congregation to support God’s mission for us in furthering His kingdom.
