The primary responsibility of the Family Life & Youth Pastor is to engage in multiplying disciples by developing leaders and structures that train and mobilize through small groups. The pastor will create an active body of Christ where everyone participates in service to the Lord, with emphasis on ministering God’s Word to the youth and young families of the church and community.

Areas of Responsibility

The Family Life Pastor will oversee the discipleship of children, youth and young families. The pastor will work to disciple parents to lead, teach, and encourage their children in their spiritual growth.

Qualifications

Ordained
Mature and growing relationship with Jesus
Possess a passion to make disciples
Able to clearly communicate and articulate the gospel
Committed to the inerrant authority of Scripture
A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church
Strong abilities and experience in equipping leaders and working with teams
Ability to connect relationally with parents and children
Knowledge of current youth culture, issues, and trends
Proficient in technology for administration, communication, and social media usage
Duties

Oversee relational and biblical ministries on a weekly basis to children, youth, and their parents. This includes, at minimum, Sunday Morning Small Groups, Sunday Morning Worship, and Wednesday Night Missions.
Lead and disciple ministry teams in the children, youth, and young families areas
Actively participate on Youth and Children’s Committees, including attending meetings and events
Must be willing to attend student school and extracurricular functions outside of normal working hours
Develop a consistent ministry that focuses on teaching the Bible and demonstrates living out the Christian faith
Develop and implement a plan for parent training, engagement and encouragement
Create and share appropriate content to Youth & Young Families social media
Must be available to fill in for Head Pastor as necessary
Position Information

· Reports to the Head Pastor and Deacons

· Part-time position averaging 20 hours per week plus summer hours

· Salary based on qualifications
