CHURCH SUMMARY:

Real Church is a new church plant and Southern Baptist church in Southwest Florida. The church is located in Ft. Myers, FL., which is located between Sarasota and Naples in Lee County FL. Our City is home to Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida Southwestern State College, and others. The city also hosts the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins for Spring training. The area boasts of plenty of sun, year-round nice temperatures, some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida, beautiful golf courses, and driving distance to most major theme parks. The church is located on the south side of the Caloosahatchee River just across the bridge from North Ft. Myers, in a community called Tice FL. Our church and campus are nestled in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic community surrounded by single-family homes and local businesses about 3 miles from downtown and less than 30 minutes from the beaches.

The church was planted in the 1960s and had a very stable history and enjoyed a good reputation in her community until tragedy struck in 2019 and the main sanctuary burned down. The church and its faithful members, by the grace of God, have now regrouped and are replanted as of Resurrection Sunday 2022 as Real Church (English) and Iglesia Real (Spanish). The vision is to engage the community with the gospel and to reflect the kingdom of God. We are multi-cultural and multi-ethnic and desire to maintain a blended worship style, with a fair mix of hymns and contemporary praise and worship, led in a way in which Christ is honored, God is glorified, and the people blessed and encouraged.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Part-time Worship Leader

The primary responsibilities of the part-time worship leader will be to lead a thoroughly blended worship service and grow the music ministry at Real Church. This person is directly accountable to the Lead Pastor. The candidate will possess an adaptable skillset and leadership capabilities, which will enable the worship ministry to grow as a new church plant and to develop special worship events on campus and in our community. Willing to work with a new church plant and have the ability to raise own funds or be bi-vocational.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Continue to grow and mature in Christ as a godly person of integrity. Strong sense of calling and identity in Christ. Demonstrated leadership in being able to disciple those in his/her sphere of influence.

2. Provide leadership, vision, and passion for Real Church in the area of music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of our church. Lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities, which align with the mission and vision at Real Church.

3. Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to create and lead at least one, possibly two (English & Spanish) well engaging Sunday morning worship services. This includes leading the Sunday Worship services and recruiting and developing a worship team and scheduling vocalists. Responsibilities include preparation for and leading rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Senior Pastor to coordinate the music for the Sunday services.

4. Proficiency in leading worship with strong vocal ability. The capability of leading with a guitar and/or keyboard is a plus, but not a requirement. The ability to lead with piano accompaniment is necessary.

5. Develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.

6. Attend a weekly staff meeting with the Senior Pastor and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.

7. Assist in planning, implementing, and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services.

8. When available, perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

9. Either currently is a member of, or willing and qualified to join the membership of Real Church upon hiring in full agreement of our statement of faith.

10. It is anticipated that the duties associated with this position will take no less than 12 and no more than 14 hours per week.

11. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
