Primary Duties:

1. Live a Godly life full of the fruits of the Spirit.

2. Work with the youth committee to cast a vision for the student ministry and help plan and coordinate all Student activities (6th-12th Grade), services, ministries, mission opportunities, summer trips, etc., and submit a tentative yearly calendar at church conference.

3. Support the AWANA ministry with the help of the AWANA director, taking on teaching responsibilities for middle/high school classes when needed.

4. Work with the Sunday School director to see that Middle/High School Sunday School classes are filled.

5. Manage Bible studies and/or worship services on Sunday for Youth.

6. Attend morning and evening services/ministries on Sunday, Wednesday night services, and church wide events.

7. Be available to counsel students.

8. Strategically build relationships with students and young adults by attending events like graduation, ball games, plays, and other community events when possible.

9. Meet monthly with the pastor for staff meeting.

Secondary Responsibilities:

1. Join Salem Baptist Church

2. Be a person who gives of their talents, tithes, and testimony for God’s glory, and if married, leads their family to have the same qualities and attributes.

3. Support the doctrinal statement and the membership covenant of the Salem Baptist Church.

4. Responsible for expenditures for student ministries and must give an account to treasurer that will be reported at church conference.

5. The Youth Minister will contact the pastor for sick time, emergencies, and all events that would cause him to miss a service or planned activity.

6. The Youth Minister will have two weeks of paid vacation per year. (Church events like Camp/Church Mission Trip do not count against this number)

7. The Youth Minister may work out unpaid time with the pastor if he must miss for other employment/family responsibilities exceeding his vacation time.

Support Of:

1. The Youth Minister is under the supervision of the pastor and will assist the pastor as needed.

2. Assist the Pastor in developing a strategy of assimilation for students (K-College) and young singles and couples into the life and ministry of the church.
