This person will be fulfilling both roles as Worship and Missions Ministry Assistant (25 hrs) and Discipleship Ministry Assistant (5 hrs).

Hours: 30 per week

Pay Rate: $15/hr

Requirements

Have a working knowledge of computer programs related to the worship ministry, including Pages and Numbers or Word and Excel, Planning Center, MultiTracks, and ProPresenter. Skills on Apple computers required. Website development through Wix is needed, but not required.
Posses a positive attitude and Christian worldview, understanding that this job can have some very sensitive aspects at time.
Confidentiality with regard to some ministry aspects and good interpersonal skills with regard to the Fine Arts Academy are required.
Posses a working knowledge of how to read music and understand instrumentation so that each instrument receives the correct part.
Posses or be willing to learn a basic knowledge of sound system components and running live sound.

Worship and Missions Ministry Assistant Job Description

Principal Function:

The Worship Ministry Assistant will serve as the primary assistant to the Worship and Missions Pastor. He/She will answer directly to the Worship and Missions Pastor as well as the Lead Pastor of Seymour First Baptist Church. He/She will work alongside the other Pastoral and Administrative staff of SFBC for the furthering of the Gospel through the ministries of SFBC.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and organize the music library, which includes, but is not limited to: choral anthems, sheet music, and orchestrations.
Prepare all copied music weekly for all music ministry volunteers, primarily including orchestra and choirs.
Maintain any correspondence to music and missions ministry volunteers from the Worship and Missions Pastor.
Coordinate distribution of electronic copies of music to volunteers. This primarily includes uploading and disseminating music through Planning Center.
Assist in the development and administrative functions of the Fine Arts Academy, which may include book keeping, paperwork, practice room preparation, and other duties related to the academy. Managing the scheduling complexities and all the correspondence therein is a primary function of this role.
Monitor the church calendar as it pertains to the worship and missions ministries of the church.
Responsible for maintaining any budgetary requirements as assigned by the Worship and Missions Pastor.
Work alongside the Worship and Missions Pastor to maintain and upload all digital music programs, including Planning Center, MultiTracks, ProPresenter. This includes primarily programs run on Apple computers.
Be willing to learn basic knowledge of sound system components and running live sound.
May have Sunday morning, Sunday evening, or Wednesday evening responsibilities related to the worship and missions ministries of the church.
Maintain prayer guides for mission partnerships and organize paperwork in preparation of mission trips.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Discipleship Ministry Assistant Job Description

Principal Function:

The Discipleship Ministry Assistant will serve as the primary assistant to the Discipleship Pastor. He/She will answer directly to the Discipleship Pastor as well as the Lead Pastor of Seymour First Baptist Church. He/She will work alongside the other Pastoral and Administrative staff of SFBC for the furthering of the Gospel through the ministries of SFBC.

Discipleship Ministry Responsibilities:

Under the leadership of the Discipleship Pastor, communicate and coordinate with the Sunday school teachers in the ordering of curriculum materials each quarter.
Organize and maintain the database of Sunday school teachers and class members.
Organize and maintain the database of D-Groups.
Coordinate regular discipleship ministry related communication through texts and emails as directed by the Discipleship Pastor.
Monitor the church calendar as it pertains to the discipleship ministries of the church.
Assist with the logistics and coordination of Men’s and Women’s ministry events as needed.
Assist with communications and coordination of duties related to the spiritual aspect of the MVP program.
May have Sunday morning, Sunday evening, or Wednesday evening responsibilities related to the discipleship ministries of the church.
Perform other duties as assigned.
