MEET SHADY GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH:

Shady Grove is a smaller family church with massive potential to impact its surroundings with the gospel. Its facilities in Brundidge, AL serve as a gathering place for worship and various activities for Brundidge, Ariton, and Zion Chapel families. Located just 15 minutes from the conveniences of Troy, AL, our area offers the friendly familiarity of small town life and easy access to various opportunities for work, sports, and recreation.

Shady Grove is composed of a strong mix of young active families and older adults with maturity helpful in discipling the next generation. We are theologically conservative, relationally warm, and eager for the next season of healthy church growth. We believe the pastor God has for us will have a heart that matches these characteristics and will lead us intentionally in our mission to make disciples.

Maintain a clear love for and fellowship with God.
Prioritize ministry to his family.
Meet the scriptural qualifications for pastors found in 1 Timothy 3:1-6 and Titus 1:5-9.
Evidence a holistic familiarity of scripture and a commitment to engaged preaching that is scripturally founded, gospel focused, and practically applicable.

Approachable – personable and compassionate in interactions and merciful in counseling care
Assertiveness – a self-motivated leader eager to implement God-given vision over the long haul and be, along with his family, an active member of our faith family
Disciple Maker – displaying a personal commitment to reaching and investing in the lives of others for their growth to spiritual maturity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership and vision for the church.
Preach/teach regularly and oversee scheduling faithful preachers when absent.
Lead in the planning and conducting of congregational worship services, as well as administering the ordinances.
Develop and lead deacons in their service to the church.
Develop and supervise paid staff (currently a part-time worship leader and part-time administrative secretary).
Serve as de facto member of church committees, providing support and direction to committee leaders.
As available, visit church members that are physically ailing or otherwise in need.
As available, officiate weddings and funerals.
