The Smiths Grove Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Director of Children’s Ministry (birth through 6th grade).

Primary Responsibilities:

Present a vision and plan for children’s ministry

Recruit, train and lead lay volunteers

Support and equip parents to disciple their children

Prepare and present a budget for children’s ministry to the stewardship/personnel committee

Represent the children’s ministry at church council meetings and business meetings

Teach in the children’s church rotation and in the children’s ministry as necessary

Create and maintain a safe environment

Communicate effectively with parents and guardians via email, social media, remind apps, etc.

Select curriculum and implement curriculum usage

Organize resources and supplies

Develop a plan to reach new children and families

Oversee or work with lay leaders who have oversight of the following events: Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, block parties, etc.

Qualifications:

A mature and growing Christian

Current membership and faithful attendance at a local church

Experience in leadership or as a high-capacity volunteer in a children’s ministry context
