Southern Hills Baptist Church, located in Sioux City, IA, is in the process of searching for the next pastor to lead our congregation. Located in northwest Iowa, the three state and five county metro population is around 170,00.

We are seeking a full-time Pastor with seminary, and 5-10 years previous experience preferred. Our present attendance is 50 -70 in the Sunday morning service, with no evening service since the pandemic. Sunday school and mid-week services are still held. Therefore, we are seeking a ministry-building minded pastor.

The church’s Pastor(s) must be men of exemplary character, diligence, spiritual passion, and the highest integrity. Pastor(s) shall be given due respect to lead the church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ while remaining accountable to the church. Pastor(s) shall be selected on the basis of Biblical standards listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, as well as other passages, and shall be held accountable to those standards.

Our mission statement says, “Southern Hills Baptist Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ, by the grace of God for the glory of God.” We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our sole standard for faith and practice. The church believes that The Baptist Faith and Message… 2000 is a faithful statement of Biblical doctrine and is the general doctrinal confession of the church. This church is a body of baptized believers personally committed to proclaiming the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
