POSITION SUMMARY

The Children’s Minister is to bring strategic leadership to all areas of our next generation of kids ages birth to 6th grade. This leader will be responsible for assisting parents in the overall growth and health of the disciple-making process for our children. An important part of this role is developing resources and relationships to help parents disciple their kids and form in them a Christian worldview. As one of our core values, we have a big vision to see our families form Christ-centered homes.

Job Title: Children’s Minister

Status: Full-time/Exempt/Religious Worker

Supervisor: Family Pastor

Primary Responsibilities

Develop strategies to engage families of children in the ministry and equip them in the discipleship of their children.
Form a strong disciple-making strategy for our children’s ministry on Sunday and Wednesday evenings in conjunction with adult disciple-making plans.
Ensure that weekly ministries are staffed with equipped and screened volunteers.
Oversee the setup and operation of all related children’s ministry environments.
Oversee and manage key events such as camp, VBS, and outreach events.
Formulate a Lead Team of volunteers and meet monthly,
Supervise the Children’s Ministry Associate.
Take the lead guiding children desiring to follow Jesus and be baptized.
Partner with our Family Pastor in leading our Family Dedication services.
Oversee the selection and implementation of curriculum for ages birth through 6th grade.
Oversee the direction and health of the Summit Child Development Ministry.
Ensure all volunteers are background screened and trained in Ministry Safe policies.
