MINISTER OF STUDENTS

Objective: Plan, develop, promote and give leadership to a comprehensive Student ministry that creates an atmosphere of spiritual growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and give leadership to Student Sunday School and Discipleship.

2. Work as a team member with the other staff members, deacons, lay committees, and members to accomplish church goals and objectives.

3. Develop a leadership team by meeting with, encouraging and giving leadership to Student Sunday School teachers and Discipleship facilitators regularly.

4. Attend Youth Committee meetings, and give leadership to this committee to plan the budget, determine and evaluate the overall direction of the youth program and plan special activities.

5. Develop and maintain spiritual growth and maturity in the students by providing them with meaningful Bible studies and other growth-related activities.

6. Maintain personal, moral, and ethical standards and practices such that he is above reproach and is an effective role model.

7. Develop and maintain a sense of community and stability within the youth group that promotes consistency, caring, and compassion for one another.

8. Be available to counsel students individually and collectively as the need arises.

9. Plan, promote and lead special events, camps, retreats and mission trips in coordination with the appropriate committee.

10. Attend staff meetings in order to keep the staff updated on all activities and to coordinate the activities with the church calendar.

11. Attend deacon’s meetings and advise them regarding various student ministry issues.

12. Serve in association and denominational work as needed, desired or time allows.

13. Must assume an active role in the inreachoutreach ministry of the church.

14. Participate in hospital visitation as directed by the Pastor.

15. Keep abreast of current trends and spiritual growth programs for students through continuing education conferences and seminars.

16. Develop activities and ministries for Middle School, High School, and college.

17. Develop and lead an effective program of evangelism and outreach in the student ministry.

18. Give priority to ministering to the family and parents of students as well as to the students.

19. Perform any and all duties assigned by the pastor and/or Associate Pastor.
